Specialized System Support

Biodex rehabilitation equipment. One experienced technician.

From 1990 to 2020 I was a Senior Regional Field Service Engineer for Biodex Medical Systems, servicing their equipment across the United States and the Caribbean. Today Precision MedTech Services is the only independent service organization in the country with a factory-trained Biodex/SMTI technician. That’s 35+ years of field service experience behind every call.

From motor and drive concerns to electronics, communication issues and preventive maintenance, I service Biodex physical medicine equipment across the line, from legacy isokinetic systems to balance, gait and cardio devices. Older systems may have parts limitations; I assess options before promising a repair.

I spent 35 years servicing FDA-regulated medical devices for Biodex and Stryker, working within their quality-system procedures. That discipline carries into every visit: equipment is restored to the manufacturer’s specifications and never modified, and every visit ends with a documented service record.

Why Experience Matters

The right diagnosis matters more than replacing parts.

An inexperienced technician can turn a simple fix into a long, expensive repair by replacing parts or taking apart major assemblies that never needed it. Knowing these systems from the inside means finding the actual fault first.

01

Dynamometer faults

Motor and drive problems, position and speed irregularities, damaged signal cables at the gimbal post, and wear in tilt, rotation and trolley mechanisms.

02

Electronics & communication

Board-level faults, power issues, and communication problems between the computer and the system, including on older platforms many facilities still depend on.

03

Balance & gait systems

Platform, sensor and display issues on balance systems, and drive, belt and electronics problems on gait trainers and unweighing systems.

Common Questions

Biodex service FAQ

Do you service Biodex equipment outside Florida?

Yes. Biodex service is available nationwide. On-site visits outside Florida are scheduled based on location, scope and availability, and many issues can be narrowed down by phone or email first.

Can you still repair an older System 2 or System 3?

Often, yes. Many facilities still rely on legacy Biodex systems. Some parts are no longer produced, so I assess the fault and parts availability before promising a repair.

What should I have ready when I call?

The model, serial number, the symptoms, any error messages, when the problem started and your facility location. Photos of the equipment and the screen help a lot.

Are you affiliated with Biodex?

No. Precision MedTech Services is an independent service organization. I spent 30 years as a Biodex field service engineer, but no manufacturer endorsement is implied.
